What is Wegovy®?

Wegovy® is an FDA-approved medication that mimics a natural hormone to help control hunger and support weight loss. It belongs to a class of treatments called GLP-1 receptor agonists.

In clinical trials, people who took Wegovy along with healthy lifestyle changes lost an average of 15% of their body weight in about a year—a major step toward lasting results.*

How Does Wegovy® Work?

Wegovy® works by mimicking a natural hormone called GLP-1, which plays a key role in regulating appetite and blood sugar. It helps slow down digestion, reduce hunger signals in the brain, and increase feelings of fullness after eating. Over time, this helps you eat less without feeling deprived—making it easier to lose weight and keep it off for the long term.

Will my insurance cover the cost?

It depends on your insurance plan—or if you choose to pay cash.

If you’d like to use insurance, Tuyo’s team will check your coverage and handle all the paperwork for you. No coverage or prefer not to use it? Wegovy® pens can be shipped directly from NovoCare pharmacy for less than half the retail price.

If you're on a government health plan, coverage options vary. Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TRICARE, and FEHB members can still join Tuyo and pay cash for select GLP-1 treatments. Unfortunately, we can’t offer coverage or access to those enrolled in Medicaid or VA plans at this time.

Prescription products require an online consultation with a healthcare provider who will determine if a prescription is appropriate. Compounded drugs are not approved nor evaluated for safety or efficacy by FDA.

How Much Does Wegovy® Cost?

If you’re using insurance, Tuyo’s team will handle the paperwork and check your coverage for Wegovy®. We’ll work with your provider to secure prior authorization if needed.

Prefer to pay cash or don’t have coverage? Wegovy pens can now be shipped directly to your door from NovoCare pharmacy. For a limited time, your first month is just $299 (plus your Tuyo membership fee), with ongoing refills at $499/month.

If you're on a government health plan, options vary. Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TRICARE, and Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) members can still join Tuyo and pay cash for select GLP-1 treatments. However, Medicaid and VA health plan members aren’t currently eligible for Tuyo membership or coverage.

What Are the Most Common Side Effects of Wegovy®?

Wegovy® can cause side effects, especially during dose increases. Most are mild and fade as your body adjusts. The most common include nausea, constipation, bloating, fatigue, and stomach discomfort. These symptoms typically improve once you’re on a steady dose.

When Will I See Weight Loss Results?

Wegovy® works gradually, so don’t expect results overnight. Most people start seeing early changes within the first few weeks, but the most noticeable weight loss tends to happen over several months as your dose increases and your body adjusts. Everyone’s progress looks different—your results will depend on factors like your starting weight, your lifestyle, and how consistently you stay on track. Be patient and steady. With time, the results will come.

Can My Wegovy® Dose Change During Treatment?

Yes. Your Tuyo provider may adjust your dosage as your treatment progresses. Dose changes are based on your medical history, how your body responds, and how well you're tolerating the medication. This personalized approach helps ensure your plan stays effective and safe over time.

Are Video Visits with a Doctor Required?

With Tuyo, you’re in control. Depending on your state, you can either schedule a video visit or upload a full-body photo along with your health information to have your request reviewed by a provider. If medication is prescribed, your provider remains available for follow-ups, adjustments, and support—right from your phone.

*Response times may vary.
